MTA Achieves TAF Awards Success
The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) took two prizes at the prestigious Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards event held recently. The association won for best exhibition for its presentation of MACH 2008, and its statistician Geoff Noon received the Individual Contribution Award.
The Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards exist to promote best practice among trade associations nationally in the UK. The MTA regards winning two of them as quite an achievement.
Referring to MACH, the judges commented that the exhibition was able to present concrete figures that demonstrated its great success. Their website carries the following citation: “MACH is a big and established show and a very important part of the Manufacturing Technologies Association’s services to members. The judges were impressed by the energy that had obviously been put into making an already successful event even more so, and the striking response to all that effort.”
The citation closes with this: “An impressive entry and an impressive show, the judges thought—a real shop window on the industry.”
MTA Exhibition Manager Graham Shearsmith was delighted that the success of MACH was recognized. “It’s a fantastic result for MACH to be declared best exhibition at the TAF Awards for the second MACH year running. We’ll be working to make MACH 2010 even better.”
The next MACH takes place June 7–11, 2010, at the NEC, Birmingham.
Geoff Noon’s award recognized both his 19 years in service to the MTA and his development of the association’s statistics and data, which prove so valuable to members assessing their market position, benchmarking their performance against competitors, and identifying market opportunities.
More information is available at the TAF Awards website.
In addition to winning two categories, the MTA was a short-listed finalist in the Best Membership Pack category for its new User Partners pack and in Best Electronic Communication for its MACH visitor e-mail campaign.
