In August this year, diesel vehicle sales in the UK reached 38,581 units, down 0.2% year-on-year; gasoline vehicles rose 5.3% year-on-year to 40,551 units; new energy vehicles rose 30.8% year-on-year to 2,508 units.

From January to August, overall passenger car sales in the UK reached 1,680,799 units, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. Sales of new energy vehicles in the first 8 months increased by 22% year-on-year, a significant increase, reaching 53,902 vehicles in total. Both diesel vehicles and new energy vehicles increased slightly.

Volkswagen and Ford brands have fallen. In August, the UK sales of Volkswagen brands fell by 25%. Volkswagen’s exhaust valve scandal has affected the brand image of Volkswagen. Earlier this month, the British Parliamentary Committee called on the government to determine a specific timetable for Volkswagen to recall damaged vehicles and compensate car owners. Volkswagen Group’s Audi brand sales rose 5.9%, SEAT rose 35%, and Skoda fell 1%.

Among the major auto brands last month, Ford’s sales in the UK reached 11,703 vehicles, down 14.33% from 11,980 vehicles in the same period last year; Vauxhall and Volkswagen fell by 3.81% and 25.19% year-on-year to 8,579 and 5,694 vehicles, respectively. . Among the three major German luxury car brands, Audi increased by 5.9% year-on-year to 6,195 units; BMW decreased by 1.98% year-on-year to 4,752 units; Mercedes-Benz increased 17.18% year-on-year to 4,651 units.

Consumer confidence is the key to market growth, and future sales growth depends on the government to provide economic growth. Ford Fiesta (Fiesta) is almost firmly on the top of the list of best-selling models in the British auto market by model, and there is a certain gap between sales and latecomers. The competition for the second to sixth places is greater and changes occur more often.
